Alumni Meeting, Harnack House, Berlin, August 17, 2020.

As you can imagine, Covid-19 changed our plans. Therefore, this year, we will not hold a major alumni event as planned. This is unfortunate, particularly because I am departing from 35 years of leadership at the Max Planck Society by the end of August. The good news, however, is that, while I retain affiliation with MPIIB and Charité in Berlin, I will be moving my remaining (small) lab to Kiel University, funded by an ERC advanced grant. I expect that in the following years, providing Covid-19 declines, we might be able to meet in Kiel and together enjoy its pleasant, northern maritime environment.
Enforced by the Covid-19 restrictions, we plan to organize only a small meeting with some hard-core alumni, e.g., those who reside within the borders of Germany. Our theme is to keep the notion of our alumni group alive. Thus, we plan to have a small-scale, half-day scientific meeting, consisting of 15 min talks, at the Harnack House on Monday, August 17, 2020. Please download the full program.
The event will be broadcasted live on ZOOM click here to join. Please mute your audio and turn off your video throughout the meeting. The meeting will be recorded via Zoom.
Following the scientific performances in the morning of August 17, we plan for a real-world excursion on Monday afternoon, together with our current coworkers. Details on the scientific session and the following excursion will be given later on.
